Greetings,
New to pistol have just recieved my license earlier this year. Just became the proud owner of a COLT Rail GUn in SS. I also own a GLock 23 Gen3, S&W M&P 22LR and a S&W 22A. Big fan of target shooting, not a hunter at all. Heading to the range tomorrow with to try out my new Colt. I look forward to reading about the colts and tips and ideas for keeping them clean and functioning.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave, let a former Long Islander be the first to welcome you to the Colt Forum, where expertise and good manners (generally) are valued :)

First I lived in Hewlett Harbor, then moved to Woodmere. After that, N.J., and for almost 40 years, Pennsylvania. I'm slowly working my way out west. The trouble is, I'm running out of time!

As you probably know, there wasn't any hunting in western Long Island. Too many people and too many planes. I lived about 5-6 miles from Kennedy Airport, when it was first called Idlewild Airport.

I have a lot of fond memories of fishing off the docks at Woodmere Bay, swimming at the beaches around there and Long Beach, and lifeguarding there when I got old enough (and in N.J. later)

Am am happy to say I have too many firearms to list them here :D
I hope you come to enjoy the time you spend here. We have some terrific members.

I just put 100 rounds through it yesterday out at Calverton and I was overwhelmed. What a nice shooting gun and accurate as hell, moreso than I am LOL. 1st 8 round clip I put all 8 on an 8" target at 12 yds. It was in stock at Bensons but it was the only one they had, that I'm aware of. I was looking at a Gold Cup on Colt site but this has the same match grade barrel and trigger setup but has a rail for a light or laser.
Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the welcome. I was born here, lived in the same house out on the north shore since I was 2 months old, kicked my parents out. I'm up by Sunken Meadow park if you remember where that was...lol. WIth all the new laws going on here, I'm thinking it's time to get out. Issue is I want to go north and she who must be feared and revered wants to head south. I may just pack up my guns and my two labradors and head north one of these days.
