You know how Chrysler has that Dear Doctor "Z" ?

How about out our very own Dr."D" ?

It's a lot easier than trying to spell dfariswheel and the man is great with all the question & answer problems.
Every time someone needs help, it's Dr."D" to the rescue.

Hope you don't mind if I call you that dfariswheel.

Jeff, I second the motion. If you remember back in 2003, there was only you, me, Majic, Dr.D and maybe a handful of others that tried to rejuvinate this forum and keep it going and Dr.D has helped us all from then until now along the way. Look at us now! What a guy!

That might require a new title of Forum PHD. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: New name for our resident MVP dfariswheel ???

I kind of got stuck with my ID back when I first got into the internet.

I was using a PC at the local library and a librarian asked if I'd like free "Email" (whatever THAT was).

I said "why not"? so she signed me up, and suddenly asked what I wanted to use as an email address.
I fumbled for a second and gave a gag nickname people used to use.

One thing led to another and it wound up as my forum ID too.

Because I get tired of typing it too, I'll answer to "Dr. D"
If I could do it without loosing my posts and count, I'd change my ID to that.

So, Dr. D it is.

Sweet !!!
Dr."D" it is, and well deserved.

Diamondback68, I sure do remember those days. I honestly thought we were doomed. I thought for sure this place was going to vanish in firearms history like many other Colt related products.
I'm glad to see new posts from new members all the time and hope they stick around for many years and contribute to the discussions as we have through the years.
I'm happy to see you guys stuck it out and didn't jump ship.

Thanks, Jeff (GUNKWAZY)

Although I have not yet posted, I have been lurking for a few months and really enjoy the forum. Honestly, I would have posted many times, but I seem to always be able to find the information I seek from others posting and being answered by all you "Old Hands" and "MVPs". Especially dfariswheel. You guys are so very helpful. Many thanks to you all for being such bottomless sources of arcane (and useful) information.

Tampa Jim, Welcome to the forum and, although we welcome and encourage your posting, I especially have to congatulate you on doing your homework and seeking out existing information. It makes my job easier. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks, A1A. Where I work, they don't call me "Analyst" for no reason.

Never a question unanswered, or a stone unturned, and always in a patient, gentlemanly manner.

Very fitting.

Howdy, Dr. D!

Not as bad as the old time gunsmiths.
A lot of the old timers apparently thought that behaving toward customers like a gut-shot grizzly was the appropriate method of customer relations.

As for bed-side manner...... I AIN'T that kind of guy, and my loafers aren't the least bit light.

I always look forward to the informative posts of the man now known as "Dr. D". He's helpful without being condescending, knowledgeable without being overbearing; quite a distinct difference from self-proclaimed "experts" on some other forums (specifically dealing with Winchesters) who actually deride the opinions of others by name calling and questioning the intelligence of those who dare to disagree. Never have I seen "D" do this (though just a tiny bit of temptation must occasionally rear its little head!). Though I collect Colts, my primary area of expertise (if you want to call it that) is in the area of Winchester .22's, specifically pre-64's. I post often and try to help people out; just hope I do it with the grace and understanding of dfarriswheel. -Asa
