i bought a new service revolver about a month ago. it has been re-blued and therefore even though it looks brand new it is not really a collector piece so i thought i would shoot it some. it is chambered for the 45 acp. i shot some some american eagle 230 fmj thru it and it shoots really good. can any body give me an idea on the age of this gun based on the serial number? it is ser # 2149xx. i have had a few people say they think it is from around 1919 or 1920 but i thought i would see if you guys agreed. by the way this a cool forum it just needs a little more traffic. thank ..therealkaos

According to my information, your gun was made 1919. Production began in 1898 and continued to 1944. 356,000 were made. Is it a M1917 U.S. Army model?
