I have an old Colt New Service that is in decent shape except that the cylinder doesnt lock up very tight when it is cocked. Also, when fired in the double action mode it seems to have a timeing problem.
Are these problems fixable?. If so, can anyone reccomend a good gunsmith to do the work.
Thanks, Adobe.

Yes, the older Colt's are repairable.

I don't think Colt works on them any more, so I'd recommend Cylinder and Slide Shop.
They have an excellent reputation for high-grade Colt work.

One word of warning: Few gunsmith's today are familiar with the old Colt action revolvers, and although they may tell you they are qualified....they aren't.
Colt's are entirely different than any other revolver made and require special knowledge to do good work on them.

Don't trust just anybody. Get a known Colt expert like Cylinder and Slide. A real Colt 'smith is expensive, but you get your money's worth. Other's charge about as much and still botch the job.
