I have what I believe to be a pair of factory grips for the Shooting Master. I thought the SM was the exact same frame and grip size as the New Service. They do not appear to be cut down in any way. When I put them on my 1917 they fit fine except they are quite short to the bottom front and rear edges. I see in my reference material that the Shooting Master was made with a "rounded butt". So... does this sound right for a pair of grips that fit the Shooting Master ?

Yup,sure is! Shooting Master, and the only "regular",fixed sighted New Service" that came with the slightly rounded butt, were those made in the .38/.357 chamberings. These were a sub model of the New Service, from about 1932-1941.
