After receiving sage advice from fellow members Johnny P. and ChaosRob (Thanks Guys) I have pulled the trigger so to speak on this WW1 1911- With a slide marked both "Model 1911 US Army" "Colt Automatic 45 calibre". After the seller found the correct grips and an original WW2 army holster, belt with intact first aid kit and several magazine pouches, Don't know if they are original to gun but nice throw in as it was a buy. I feel like Santa came early this year. To me its beautiful. Thanks for looking

Nice variation with transferred commercial slide. I would consider replacing the magazine release catch lock. Every Bubba thinks it is a screw, and with enough pressure it will break loose.

It sure sounds nice!

But, the images are too vague or me to really see it in detail.

I love the old WWI ones.
