Hi guys this is my first post here. i was refered by ArgMauser off the S&W forums. I am a smith and wesson collector dont hold that against me. i just bought my first colt last night a pre 70 series colt national match i need a dob. ssn 25xxx-nm. what is a value of it? i would say blueing is at 90 % in factory box. factory grips as well. thanks guys

Does your 1911 have a "C" before the serial number?

Up until 1950 all Colt commercial 1911's had a "C" before the number, from 1950 to 1970 they had "C" or "CC" after the serial, and from 1970 on they had a mix of letters and numbers.

I'm going to assume you have a military issue NM pistol, so since I'm not an expert on these, I'll have to pass on that question.
