November's casual ( but disciplined! ) Target shooting event.

Open to all Colt 'Army Specials', and 'Official Police' Revolvers.

Target may a be a print-out of the one found here via this Link:

http://www.mytargets.com/Target4 red circles.pdf

Or, may be one, which one comes up with otherwise or makes one's self using a Paper Plate, if one's Printer is on the blink.

Course of Fire:

12 Shots, at 10 Yards.

12 Shots at 20 Yards.

One may 'circle' one's 10 Yard Shots with a 'Sharpie' before making the 20 Yard Shots, so that one can tell which was which. Or, one may simply use two separate Targets.

Please relay if shots are made one Handed, or, two handed, in 'DA' or in 'SA', and, be sure to post some images of the Revolver and the Target!

Keep warm! And have fun!

Holding a Ransom Rest out at Arm's length, one Handed or 'two', with a Revolver Clamped in it, sounds like it would be a little tiring to the Arm Muscles.

Would dampen that pesky recoil of the .38 Special though!

I will be shooting my Army Special, and posting the results soon!

By the way, that's one ugly, hard to see target! I'm not sure what to aim at with all that junk on it, or what the crosshairs are supposed to do. What happened to standard NRA black bullseyes on white? Everything today is dayglo orange or green. I don't know about you, but I don't like training my eye to shoot hunter safety colors! Seriously though, it's hard on the eyes.

I recommend the NRA 50ft Slow Fire Pistol - B2 which is black, has scoring rings, and will have the right sized bull for that distance. Available in PDF for printing here: http://toyfj40.freeshell.org/GunPix/NRAtargets.html

Well, I managed to get out to the range yesterday and get some fun shooting in............ I took five handguns with me, but could only shoot four of them as this idiot forgot to bring any ammo for the Army Special in 32-20 cal.....I will take her out shortly and hopefully take some ammo with me. Here is a photo of the AS in .38 cal. and the target. While looking at this, keep in mind that for the 20 yard shot the wind was blowing about 84.4 MPH, a branch fell out of a tree and hit me in the head after the 3rd. round, and a snake bit me the leg right after the 5th. round. But I did manage to get the 6th. shot off. As you can see, I missed the whole damn target with it. All in all, I think that I did pretty well. It was a fun day.
