HHhhhheeeeyyyyyyy!!!!!
Don't know what I am doing wrong but I cannot find the ad......love to see it. Have only seen one other and it was in the Generals desk at Colt.....now owned by an employee.....he has offered to let me take photos but I would like to see this one too.....he thought they did not even make a dozen of them.
Oh a custom gun, thank you....OK....I will get over and get the picture of a couple of the oddball ones they made....
I hate the hole in the hammer spur and the holes in the trigger guard. Was it really going to make that much of a difference in weight?
$3000 is absurd for this gun.

I bought this piece off of a Forum member as a conversation piece about a year ago and the price I paid was absurd also. I then stumbled on this gunbroker listing: RARE COLT anaconda 45LC 2.5 IN BBL! PENNY : Revolvers at GunBroker.com

I thought to myself, I better try my hand at the Snubby Anaconda Sales, there was more than 1 bidder on the last one!!!

I MUCH rather the looks of the .45. No cheesy holes in the hammer spur and trigger guard and no ugly solid orange front sight either.
Are you going to carry it in a pocket holster, IWB or ankle holster? Or just pull it behind you in a wagon?

No disrespect meant keystone, just my opinion of that particular gun. If you can get $3000 for it more power to you. You certainly aren't misrepresenting it in any way. It is what it is. You want to see a real crazy price on an Anaconda?

Charlene bought one of these three or four years ago for under $2000. That was a good move.
I have to admit that I toyed with the idea of doing the Mag Na Port conversion to my own Anaconda.

Mag-na-port International--Custom Handgun Conversions

I never liked the look of the target crown on those.

The one that Marc linked looked exactly how I would have liked the crown to turn out.

That must have been a one off job.
A great carry cannon! A red ramp insert front sight would look good.
I don't like the Sight nor the cut outs myself. I had a Smith 629 with a 5 Inch Barrel that Mag Na Port did a number on without the gawdy touches and it was PHENOMENAL! The Action was just about the best I've ever felt.
Marc,

I too had an early Magna Port snubby Smith many many years ago. I think it was a 629 series, although it may have been a 29 in another finish. Yup, I gave that one away, as I later found out it may have been a custom for a Chief of Police or something like that.

As to your offering, I too find the cuts kinda interesting. Generally a hammer is bobbed to conceal, and lightened for accuracy. Chopping the barrel kinda works opposite for accuracy, and it is definatly not hunting legal in may states so the hammer cut is kinda "odd". But it does match up with the trigger guard, so it kinda makes sense. As the saying goes, I would not kick it out of my bed for eating crackers, but not wealthy enough to get it into bed with me ;^) It's not NIB with a Factory letter, so maybe there is hope in this world.......Good luck with it.

I dug my 5" Anaconda out of the safe this past weekend and took it deer hunting. No better .44 Mag for the field has ever been in my hands. THE perfect length! I saw a gorgeous 10 point buck, had the sights on him but the light had faded too fast and I was only about 85% sure I was aiming where I needed to be so, as hard as it was, I let off the trigger, put the gun in my lap and just watched that old boy ghost off into the tree line. It is nice to see they have gone crazy on price (got mine years ago for under $1K) but I wouldnt sell mine for twice the price in that GB listing (and am thankful I can make such a choice).
