Hi there lads;

I just went for a drive to Costco with my wife. Didn't really want to go but she made me. Anyway, it turns out, I'm glad I went after all (thanks dear). Since I hardly ever frequent their book section, Judy spotted two NRA Gun books and said, "Bud, go and have a look at the book section near the end." I did, and found these two books at $15.00 and change each.

I've never seen these two books before so I got what I think is a great deal. There are some very beautiful photos of some of our favorite guns in them as well.

I thought I'd let you all know just in case they have them at your local Costco in the USA as well. I hope so anyway.

Thanks for looking lads,

Bud

Hi Derek;

Isn't it strange, the difference in price for an item in the different places it gets sold?

It always amazes me that the price of an item can be so varied it seems odd. For me to purchase this book at $15.45, it makes me wonder what the price to the seller is. Probably around $10.00 I would guess.

Super deal, Bud. That NRA book is advertised in the Oct issue of Man at Arms for $29.99 plus shipping.

Yep, and that price I quoted is direct from the publisher! Advert says (quote) "LIMITED SUPPLY AVAILABLE!"
I always make a beeline for Barnes & Noble shops when I'm over there - had some great bargains on gun/western books over the years. I could usually fill a suitcase. Maybe I should next time as there's no tax on books when I get back!

My pleasure Cam, and after all the help and kindness from the members on this wonderful Colt Forum, it's the least I can do.

Bud. I just bought "Treasures of the NRA National Firearms Museum" for $13.99 on E-bay. Looked like a good book to have. Thanks for posting these.

Hi, and yes, it was a nice trip after all.

I live in south central Ontario. The are in which I live, (The Kawartha's) is often referred to "The Land Of The Lakes." It's not a whole lot different than say, the New England area. Hot summers, wet (not too wet) Springs and cold, cold, cold, cold (did I mention cold?) winters. Sometimes down around -.40 degrees F in February.

It's been estimated that the area has approximately 10,000 lakes.

Most of us love it here, and as long as you can remember never to pee on a steel pipe, you'll be fone.

Bud, sounds like you had a good trip to Costco. I like when I find some gun related stuff in a store I didn't expect too. btw what part of Canada do you live in? worried about America.
