Don't believe everything you read.

If certain laws would still be as is we still would be burning witches at the stake.

Just my opinion.

Those were not laws Gunsmoke they are just the introduction to each State's constitution. There's a difference. From what I understand Europe in general has turned their back to God. In My Opinion this is a mistake. I don't mean any offense Gunsmoke. It's just pretty obvious to my American eyes that even conservative Europeans have become more Socialist than is good In My Own Opinion.

Gunsmoke I want to make this perfectly clear I have no problem with you as a person. We just would have interesting discussions about politics I suspect.

Great post, Chugwater ~ and excellent follow-through. I'd like to steal your post and place it on another shooting forum. Do you have any problems with that?

Hey Zulu,

Be my guest. I wish I was smart enough to have authored that but alas I am a reader not a writer.

Gunsmoke, my friend, you've been sniffing tooooooo much gunsmoke.

No offence guys, our laws also start just about the same way, but:

In my point of view the important thing is that what follows after the introduction.

And believe me: A lot of those laws would make our Lord turn away indisgust! So I think that it would not be wise to at first proclaim some law in God's name without having consulted the man in person!

Just my opinion.

Gunsmoke,

The vast majority of the above listed preambles gave thanks to God or a "supreme being" for freedom, life, etc. They DID NOT say that the laws listed in the state constitution are brought forth from God. Nor did they claim that God personally approved the laws written by man. If you don't mind me saying in my opinion your bias against Christianity is showing by misreading the above preambles twice now.

Okay, point taken.

But I still believe that it would be better to divide religion and politics.

There are to many examples both in the past and the present that show that they don't go well together. No need for me to give examples, looking at the sorry state our world is in at the moment.

And I don't think that the big man above would approve...

People ask why isn't God protecting our children from the shootings in schools that are occurring and have occurred in the past. The reason is simple, because God was kicked out of our schools by the liberal minority. Some may say it's the law, even so, God does not go where He is not wanted!!!

If you are a true believer, -which I am in a to you perhaps very different way- you would know that God is every where and there's no liberal or democrat or republican or american or dutchman or whatever who's capable enough of keeping Him out anywhere. Things happen "inch Allah" -God willing".

That things happen is only to blame on those who make them happen. Someone did this. An individual. Blame him. If lawmakers made an -in your opinion- unjust law, use your Democratic Right and vote.

Our Founding Fathers were God fearing Christians and the Constitution they authored is one of the greatest documents in history. Liberal politics, which does all it can to remove God from all aspects of politically sanctioned life, is slowly destoying this country by creating Godless, ammoral, irresponsible, apathetic citizens whom they can mold into the voters that will continue their process. It is a grueling battle for the conservative silent majority to keep fighting each election to maintain our country's freedoms from the relentless assault that is launched against them by the liberals. With the control the liberals have pretty much managed to gain over our public school system, I wonder how much longer we can keep our youth from being subverted totally to liberalism and pave the way for the great UN plan for world government. It truly is a monumental fight that we must perservere at. Every time you handle your cherished firearms, thank the NRA for the battles they've fought to retain our 2nd amendment rights. If anyone who owns firearms is not a member of the NRA, they should join asap and build a stronger NRA to continue to win the battles to keep our 2nd amendment strong. The 2nd amendment is actually the 1st in that without it we have no tools to fight for the rest! Whew! See how God, Country and Guns are interrelated?

Depends on if you're using the European version of liberal or the American version. American liberals would be called Socialists in Europe. Which is actually a very accurate description of their ideals. But most Americans don't have a firm understanding of what exactly a socialist is so they don't realize American liberal equals socialist. American liberals don't go by the European names because Americans associate socialist with the evil empire. Then they would never be elected anywhere. So American liberals lie about who they are in order to gain public office.

And here's the bottomline!

First off, my apologeese for throwing out the bait.

Second:

Whether it's a republican, a democrat, a communist, a socialist, a liberal, a preacher, an atheist, a pragmatist or an idealist. It doesn't matter who is in office, you are never able to keep everybody happy!

That is what we call democracy.

Let's get back to the guns now.
