Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Colt Factory Officers 7-round Bright Stainless (base plate) magazine made? I have seen matte finish magazine bases with the letters MS and CS and I assume these are manufacture initials. Can anyone tell me who the manufacturers are for these 2 magazines?

Hi,

Yes,they were made in ultra bright stainless. It has the Colt logo and the letters M AND S.
I can only guess the M stands for metalform, and the S for stainless.
Perhaps someone with more knowledge can advise.

Regards,
Trader859
Hope this helps.

The "S" stands for Stainless.
The "M" stands for Metalform.
I "think" the "C" stands for Chip McCormick.

I can find Colt brite stainless SIX round magazines:

http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/schemat...l=Officers+ACP+
(Also in standard stainless 7 round stainless).

From what I can find, there are no 7 round Brite stainless magazines available.

What you could do is buy the standard 7 round stainless and polish the floor plate.
Since Colt has the markings stamped so deeply, this would be fairly easy to do.

Another option, would be to buy standard 6 round magazines, and drop in a 7 round conversion unit.

(Conversion kits down the page).

Thanks for all your help. I agree in that Colt doesn't have a 7 round factory magazine with a bright stainless base. I have already prepared some factory 7 round matte stainless magazines for buffing on a 8" wheel. Wet sanded the bases with 1000 wet or dry paper and they are almost mirror like already - will wheel them for the final polish. Will work just fine. Just curious though - who is the maker of factory magazines with initials G over S. As you mentioned the s stands for stainless. Which manufacturer starts with "G". Thanks a bunch!
