Officer\'s Model Match in .22 Magnum

Does anyone here know how many of these were made and how much they are worth?

I have seen a figure of 500 and one of 300. I have one shipped in December of 1959, which is somewhat unusual since the .22WMR OMM was not cataloged until 1961.

When I see Boas and the like bringing thousands, I wonder why these rarer and better-made revolvers do not reach the same levels.

Judge I suspect that it is because most neophites and none Colt people just don't get the buzz with a name like Officers Model Match. Sounds too staid and uptight. It's got to have a buzz word name like, Boa, Viper, Diamondback, Python to turn people on. Colt figured this out back in 1955.
It's called "sell the sizzle, not the steak" theory, but it works. Hence many fine Colts don't get the high "pops" like the others.

Thanks. Mine was bought used but in excellent conditon in 1975 as a wedding present to me from my wife. Needless to say, I still have both the gun and the wife!
