I have a Colt single action, nickel, 4 3/4 that I was told is a 3rd gen factory engraved. This gun has amost full coverage with GA on the back strap and Gene Autry by the ejector rod, also has carved ivory grips with what looks to be roses on each side. On the bottom of the frame by the serial # is is engraved GA-12. My question is I was told it is factory engraved, was this gun a special run edition honoring Gene Autry? The engraving is very nicely done and likey hand engraved. I was told the gun was made in 1993, but when I purchased it the seller did not know much more than that-thank you for any help you may provide. Dback

There was a Gene Autry Commemorative made for the US Historical Society. It is my understanding that the engraving and finishing was done by Uberti. Not sure if the base gun was made by Colt or Uberti. Pictures and the serial number might help.
