To my knowledge at that time the only revolver with gold medallions was the python. I could be wrong though I'm sure you will get an answer from an expert soon.

Would a 4 inch 1969 vintage Official Police have stocks(service type) with gold color medallions?

A '69 vintage OP should have checkered walnut stocks with silver medallions.
Thanks, folks. I guess it would be safe to assume that (assuming they are OEM) these stocks originally were on the 2.5 inch Python, since they're service type and not targets.
Makes me wonder what was wrong with the original stocks on this particular OP, since it is pretty much pristine...

All of the Official Police revolvers that I have ever seen were wearing service stocks. I would suspect replacements if targets were installed to be honest.T these stocks originally were on the 2.5 inch Python, since they're service type and not targets.
