I just bought an older Agent and when I went to install my old Pachmayr Colt "D" Frame Compacs they were to small, the frame on the Agent is about a 1/4 inch to long to fit in the grips, I looked on the Pachmayr website and no mention of different size Colt "D" Frame grips, can anyone help with this? Serial number is 53652 B LW could someone please date it if possible? Thank you.https://imgur.com/cdXGjwl

As I recall from posts here, the early Agent had a odd size grips frame.
At the time, the Detective Special and Cobra had the old long rounded butt grip frame.

In 1966 Colt changed all "D" frames to a short, stubby square butt frame.
I "think" that at that time they also changed the Agent to use the same frame as all the others.

As far as I know, Pachmayr never made a rubber grip for the early Agent.

The original Agent had the same butt frame as the original Courier, which was a very short, round butt. The Post-1965 D-frame butt has an abbreviated square butt frame, shorter than the original Agent and Courier, and the desired butt length was created by the length of the stocks used.

No Pachmayr rubber stocks were ever made for the original full-frame Agent or Courier.
