Ok Henri, I'll take a stab since everyone else is keeping quiet.

The PPS first issue had a last patent date of 1905. These were made between 1907 to 1927.

The PPS second issue had a last patent date of 1926. These were made between 1928 to 1946. I believe this was the last patent date to show up on the barrel of a PPS.

The PPS third issue was made between 1947 to 1976. I do not believe these had a patent date on the barrel. So I can conclude that 1946 was the last DOM PPS with the patent date of 1926 on the barrel.

I do not own a PPS third issue but do have the 1st, 2nd, and 4th. So maybe someone with a 3rd issue can confirm by beliefs.

Oh Jeeze, I guess I don't even know what I have anymore.

I just checked the safe and I DO have a 3rd issue PPS! I guess I forgot I had one. It is from 1965 and it does NOT have patent date on barrel. So I think my post above is accurate.
