"Peters Rustless .38 Super" cartridges. New Old Stock!

1230 Views 14 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Sparebux
I have a friend who has 3 boxes of old Peters .38 Super ammunition that he picked up at an estate sale a few years back. Pre-Remington and 100% complete is all I have at the moment. All he could tell me was that the boxes were full & in good shape. He also said they appeared to be white & blue? No barcodes..etc. One box actually had a picture of the cartridge & was slightly different than the others, he said. Will have some pictures tomorrow hopefully!

Any Ideas where I might look for a value on these ...assuming they are good stuff?

I'm only looking at these for my old ammo collection...NOT for SHOOTING!

Any and all opinions will be welcome and valued!

Check with Ray Giles to see if he has any or what he think they are worth.

Nice find. You can find typically them on GunBroker for between $50 and $75. As for anything else, condition is everything when it comes to prices...

I wish I could find some listed or some comps on GB or anywhere else, Snakeman. I'm having no luck. Maybe after I actually see them tomorrow, I'll have a better perspective!

I don't know if there was a time difference, but during that period Peters used the same box other than one was blue and white and the other was blue and yellow.

This is what I bought for $125.00. The "money box" which was wrapped in cellophane was missing 6 cartridges. I'm happy never the less! All here is in above average shape with no soiling or tears...etc..etc

What do you guys think?

Very nice!! Last summer I (who never think to stop at yard sales) was taking my GF to lunch, and after eating we were driving through a residential area, when she spotted a yard sale. She wanted to stop, so we spent some time wandering around. I protest a couple of boxes of .45 Auto ammunition. The guy wanted $20 a box for them, and I made him a counter offer, and bought them! Well, just because!!

i have kept my eyes open since then, but no more luck....yet, anyway.

Speaking of antique ammunition...Any of you guys know anything about Frankford Arsenal 45 cartridges? The prices are all over the map! I mean, an 1877 dozen -"$350 Buy-it-now" an 1888 dozen-"$gazillion buy-it-now". I would think the grail dozen would be '73-'74 respectively and so on..& so on....

No rhyme nor reason!
