I just traded a S&W 1911PD Gunsite for a Colt Defender. I get to pick it up tomorrow. I am like a kid on Christmas eve!!!!!

I just got mine last week and took it to the range for some familiarization. Was shooting from about 25 yrds and was hitting center mass with no problems. cycled ball and hollowpoints no problem. quite the little firecracker!

Here are some pictures of my new to me Colt Defender! I am really loving this gun. Can someone please tell me what grips are on this gun?? I am looking to trade them for some without the magwell cut at the bottom. The gun came with a nice magwell mainspring housing, but it added length to the grip which I did not want.

Harrison Design and Consulting makes those. I wouldn't get rid of them just because of the square bottom. They are fine grips and that little difference is negligible.

mapwd, as you know, those stocks are not the ones Colt installed at the factory.

Crimson Trace makes a set of lasergrips for the Colt Defender, which I highly recommend.

I have slim Alumagrips in black on my New Agent. I really like those.
