Here's a picture of a work in progress. It was sent to me by a man who is making a pipe-style case for one of my 2nd Generation Colt percussion revolvers, a Model 1862 Pocket Police.

From my [very] limited knowledge of these types of cases, they appeared to have been more popular with European revolvers. However, R. L. Wilson does picture an authentic one for a Model 1849 Pocket Colt in a couple of his books, and one of the big auction houses sold an original Pocket Colt awhile back in a period pipe case. I thought they were neat, and I said to myself, "Self...I want one of those" :)

My pipe case is now being sent out to have the exterior covered in leather, and will then be returned to my case maker to have the interior lining installed.

Also pictured is the revolver the case is being made for.
