VA7598 was made in 1980.
The "VA" series began and ended that year.
The series started at VA0101, and ended at VA9256.

VO 3511 was made after 1985.
There are no numbers publicly available.
Call the Colt factory, and they will give you a production date over the phone.

V95152 was made in 1980.
The "V" series picked up that year at V88374 and the "V" series ended that year at V99999

Do you think the different S/N ranges are because of different options. Such as barrel length or finish?

No.
Colt just used a serial number prefix or suffix until the numbers started running out or they felt like it, then changed to a new one.

1980 was a busy year at Colt.
the serial number ranges that year were:
V88374 to V99999
AL0101 to AL9999
LA0101 to LA9999
VA1001 to VA9256
K0100 to K16265.

Colt always used serial numbers to ID models, never features on models.

In other words, there would be a serial number range for the Python, and another range for the Official Police.

But, there would be no separate ranges for a stainless Python and a blued Python, or a 4" or a 6" barrel or any other features.
