I picked it up on Mon. Yesterday, I ran a swab through the barrel. I was horrified at how filthy it was!
I broke it down and cleaned it. The inside of the slide and barrel showed the gun wasn't cleaned last time it was shot. The extractor claw had dried residue on it as well. The breechface was pretty clean.
Our member whom I traded with to get this gun took it in an estate sale. Although I didn't ask him, I doubt if he shot it himself. It's a good thing I cleaned it. Now it's beautiful inside and out.
The exterior is just about perfect and it's clean, so I assumed the interior was also clean. Wrong.
I also discovered somebody put a shok buffer around the back end of the recoil spring guide. It was dried up and cracked so I removed it.
Can I assume the factory did not include a shok buff?
