Should I expect any problems shipping a Colt Hammerless to California?

No except that you can only ship to a Type 01 FFL and you need to perform the CFLC ) California Firearms License Check) first. Here is the info:

Okay thanks. I was curious. Well I'm definitely shipping FFL to FFL
Some years back I had a decent Ballister Molina and not being a Colt I lost interest in it. So I listed it and sold it. Went to my local FFL to ship and they said; "We don't ship guns to California. but thankfully they did ship the B M for me.

If you are shipping as an individual or an FFL-03 you don't need (and indeed, CAN'T) to do the CFLC forms.
The trick is finding a CA FFL-01 that will accept the shipment.

from the link above (and personal frustrating experience)
Note that the reference here, as in many other places, "FFL" excludes an FFL-03 :)

We found out that to ship a handgun as a individual it has to go overnight; about $100.00.
But if I go through a FFL they can mail it for $15.00 + $15.00 ins. + $25.00 transfer.
I was contemplating getting an 03 but never followed up on one.
