Looking at serial number 666xxx minty shape but without box. No holster wear and appears original.Mechanics excellent and 4" blue. Can you folks help me?

i will assume the gun is a police positive special, that puts dom at 1955.a post war gun, 4 in. in .38 spl. would be a very common type.approx value range 250$ +- 100, this however is just my opinion

Thanks, I picked it up for $325, a little on the high side maybe.But I've seen some in worse shape for around the same price. I know the owner and it came from his personal collection.
