I originally said this revolver was purchased at the Missouri Valley Arms Collector show in Kansas City. It was actually purchased in Shawnee, Oklahoma this past August at the Indian Territory Antique & Arms show. Another good show you should consider. The show is just over 200 tables. Only collectibles are allowed. There are lots of real nice Colts and Winchesters. My letter for the Police Positive came today. It is factory inscribed on the butt. Best I can tell it was sold to Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Company. Shipment was to Bob Smith Sporting Goods of Boston. Date of shipment was November 28, 1938.

Nice gun and interesting letter. I see that there were 23 identical guns in the shipment. I find it curious that the bank ordered their guard guns as Police Positive .38's rather than the more powerful Police Positive Specials in .38 Special. Especially as late as 1938 when the memory of gangster era bank robberies must have still been very fresh in everyone's mind. It's always fun to ponder such things isn't it ?
