I'm going to buy a nice set of Bar-B-Q grips for my new-to-me SS 6" Python. I have now three different style Hogues (Laminated Rosewood, Coco Bolo and Pau Ferro) for my other wheel guns (S&W) but want something really special for the Colt.

What do ya think?

BluMagnum, but be prepared to dig deep in the pocket. If you really want to be special then take out a home mortgage and get a set of real Ivories.

See a custom maker like Roy Fishpaw, who specializes in exotic materials.

Be prepared to wait, and be prepared for sticker shock, but his grips are true on-of-a-kind items, made of woods and materials most people have never heard off.

Having a pair of Fishpaw grips is like having a Jungkind Python, a Swenson 1911, or a "family" Ferrari.

Thank you much for the replies gentlemen. Some good information.

I did find somehing a short time ago that looks interesting at the Ajax site, Sambar Stags. $260 (with medallons) and a 2 month wait. Still looking but the stags are in the lead at the moment. Ivory is nice but too plain, IMO, for a SS python.

Any other ideas?
