While browsing through Gunbroker I came across this item:
Colt Official Police Heavy Barrel : Revolvers at GunBroker.com
I contacted the seller, because of the ramped front sight, thinking it was a post war on a prewar gun. He replied quickly and the barrel has all the prewar features:
"+HEAVY BARREL", patent dates,etc. Was the ramped front sight a special feature that could be ordered on the prewar guns(this one is of 1943 vintage)?

The ramp front sight is seldom encountered but could be ordered on the pre war Official Police as could the round butt frame however it would need a letter from Colt to confirm. Here is an OP .22 that has the special order ramp front sight:
