I have this well worn Norinco 1911A1 on lay-a-way and I plan to make a fun project gun out of it. Why cut up a nice collector piece, right?

I have been reading a lot and have decided to make a few, but cheap improvements to it.

I picked up some stuff out of the junk drawer at my local store to try out.

My question is about this National Match bushing.

I tried it in the gun and it would not fit the slide or the barrel, which is what I was looking for. Can I take down the O.D. and the I.D. to fit this gun? How close is the fit for something like this?

Well it's taken awhile but I got this one out of jail and on the work bench. While I was waiting to pay it off I bought a few goodies from midway. Wilson drop in beaver tail and a S&W commander style hammer.

Striped her down and cleaned everything. Fitted the oversized trigger from the gun shop junk drawer and installed my new parts. Took quite a long time to fit the National Match bushing but it's good to go now.

Only other grip panels I had were some Colts. Anybody got any other cheap ones that would be a good match?

Plan to carry it as is for awhile after I see how it runs.
