Hi, i own a Gold Cup 80's and i want to know which purpose the depressor has. As i have seen, the other 1911 models do not have a depressor. The depressor is the very small part which connects the sear and the disconnector.

Many regards from Germany,
Joachim

The Gold Cup is fitted with a lighter trigger pull with less sear engagement than the other models, therefore the the depressor is installed to keep the pistol from "doubleing" or the hammer following the slide as it returns to battery. For safety reasons don't even think about removing it.
