Gun Firearm Trigger Starting pistol Revolver
I wanted to get an idea of it's value. I have checked Gunbroker but they do not show actual "sold items".
Thanks!

I’m not a long term forum Python expert, but I have purchased a few late 70’s and a 1980’s python
The devil is in the details for full premium price. The gun itself is worth a lot- but I can’t throw a figure out there that will be accurate as the forum members that sell them for a living.

I think that model plastic blue box would have a “picture box “ sleeve with a label on the end flap to be complete. Believe it or not that makes a signicant different since the blue plastic box is not tied directly original to the gun without it.
Wondering if your sure about your guns date because I think a 1983 gun would have a styrofoam box with the faux wood grain sleeve. Blue plastic came little later
Condition is everything and I’m interested to see what experts say on your gun. I think a snub python in mint excellent condition is worth some good coins

Prices on Pythons is depressed from a year or so ago...not they've come down to pre-snake crazy prices but still down a bit. Stainless Python snubbies do have some high value...not as high as the Ultimate Stainless versions but high. I would guess a reasonable value would be in the $3000-$3500 range if all paperwork and the box is present. On a good day maybe more. The market is fickle...today could be big bucks higher or lower than tomorrow or there is only one guy looking for one or two guys wanting it on any particular day.

About a year ago a local gun store sold a blue Python snubby for about $3250...it sat in their case for some time than one day a guy walked in, saw it and jumped on it. As I said, I think values have gone down a bit since then.

I agree with that- because my recently purchased 6”blued 1979 was about $500 cheaper than I expected for a mint/box complete gun. .. and prices could change by Christmas and likely will by next tax season.

Prices on Pythons and many other guns may drop after New Year when people need to pay off Christmas bills and might rise again when they get their tax refunds and want to spend it.

Your Python can't be a 1983 because it has the one pin front sight which was used from 1991 to 1996 on the standard Python's.

That year range matches up better with the box too.
Great info BFD

Did you notice the date on the owners manual?

The single pin front sight change came about sometime in the early to mid 90's. That change remained until final production ended. D*
I contacted Colt and they confirmed it was made in 1991.
thanks

By the way, under the Advanced feature you can toggle between current (for sale) and completed. It will show whether there were any bids and/or if the item sold or was re-listed. This is very useful in establishing a value in my opinion. Thanks.
