I am pursuing this Python and would like to know what you guys think as to the authenticity of it's box. I still have much to learn on boxes and this will be an important part of this purchase. Thanks.

What era did they start listing the bar code on the side and printed gun info? Also the thumb tab cut-out on the box ( which you can just see through the glare of the light on the left of the box in 2nd pic). Can you guys tell me what about this box tells you it is legit?

I see a lot of posts telling us what boxes are fake but not so many post showing us which ones are correct. I would be wonderful if a member could maybe put a thread together that would go over say early 60 boxes up to the mid/late 80s and show the different types and styles of correct Colt/Python boxes. I have looked for a guide but haven't found one.

Sadly I have not had any responses from this seller yet and believe it may be to good to be true. When you see an ad listed locally and tell them you are also local and would like to come see it and then no one responds, something fishy.

Yep, at $1300 I'd say it's a scam.

Yes if they wont respond and "are local" its most likely a scam. Add in IF is 1300, then yes its a scam. Either Face to Face transaction or meet at a local gun shop to transfer or Pass, do not send them money.

yes, I am well aware of that. they did reply to my original message that asked if they still had it and I lived local and would like to come look at it and then I asked where they were located. well the ad was placed in my southwestern PA city area and they responded to me that there location was in Indiana state somewhere. I told them nope not interested and said a few other things about what they were doing that I wont mention.

That is a too good to be true price. The box is real but it won't do you any good because you will not get the gun or box.
