Hi, after MANY years looking for just the right Colt Python, I finally found one at a gun show in York, PA to keep my Detective special company. It's a 4 inch barrel and gorgeous Royal blue. The vendor said that he did not think it was ever fired, except maybe when tested at the factory. Could someone be kind enough to give me a born date on my Python? The serial number is T207**.

Thank you,
Dennis

You Python was made in 1983.

The "T" series began that year, and started with T01001.
The numbers ran to T27540 by the end of the year.

Thank you dfariswheel, I appreciate your fast response. If the Python was unfired it isn't any longer. I just had to run it through it's paces on Sunday. It ran like a charm. Me and my girlfriend shoot bullseye at 25 yards, and at that distance it seemed as though the bullets, both 38 special and 357 Mags were on a guy wire directly to the target. I'm a happy camper.

Thanks again,
Dennis
