My wife gave me a 4 in. Elite for Christmas two years ago. I used Flitz and soft cloths to polish the satin finish to a mirror one, replaced the gawd-awful Hogue-type grips with a mint set of pre-war Official Police checkered woods with silver medallions (stubby fingers, doncha' know) to make quite a looker. I haven't holstered it, but any scratches or abrasions will disappear with Flitz if I do. Function? Timing is perfect, single and double action are heavy but very smooth-nowhere near as light as my 1969 6 in. blue, but acceptable. Sights are lined up perfectly and it's very accurate. They're expensive, and probably not as lovingly crafted as earlier examples (also have a mid-70's 2 1/2 in. blue that's flawless) but, dang, they're functional and they're Pythons. -Asa
