This is getting unbelievable! Glad I've got 10 pair of various vintages.
And these are for the newer type!

So it's not the Python itself that's so expensive, it's the darn stocks.
This will put things into perspective.....

Corvette Wheels

Here's a set of 1967 Corvette rims on Ebay.
Keep in mind, just the wheels, NO Corvette. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Damn, mine was a '66 but it had redlines. Photo taken in '66.

I've got several Second and Third type grips I was planning on Ebay-ing, but I think I'll sit on them for a few years and see how high these go.

Ya know, I just let go of my 6" '67 Python which I was going to have Colt do some gunsmithing on. For some reason I just don't like the way a 6" Python with the solid underlug balances. Anyhow, the thought crossed my mind that I could pick up a set of cheap Packies and snag the original grips but, I couldn't do it. When they get up over $1000 a set I may look back and kick myself but really, I like keeping things together when I get them that a way.

This appears to be one guy that doesn't know what he's doing. Only a rep of "4" on eBay, and he keeps going. Apparently wants them very badly, or possibly shill bidding.

I've been watching these pretty close and $75 to $100 seems to be average for the later style "straight line checkered" Python stocks.

Another bidder bid them to $200 so it isn't just one guy doing it on his own.

It's NOT shill bidding.
I have not seen a mint pair sell under $100 in months.
$75 ???? Not for a minty set. I'll take them all for that.
Here's another set that just sold over the $200 mark.

Goodness, gracious! I guess I am mistaken. Of course, I am just looking without an interest in buying, so I don't really watch up to the end. I stand corrected.

Yet another mistake of mine-not buying all of those used Python grips at gun shows when Pachmayrs were the rage 30+ years ago.
Best Regards,
