Lustreless nickel. Is this what is called "colt guard" or something similar. The reason I know it is nickel is that it is chipped on the hammer and the trigger guard and the steel has rusted. I just bought the gun today. 6", nickel, Pachmyr/Colt stocks. S/N K654XX. When was it produced and what is the accurate name for the finish?
Thank you to all that read this.

If it's a Python and the satin finish is factory it was called "Royal Coltguard".
The Python electroless nickel was shinier them the more satin standard Coltguard used on other Colt's, but Royal Coltguard was not mirror-like as bright nickel is.

This one is definitely not bright. I mistook it for brushed stainless until I found the chipped nickel on the trigger guard and hammer.
I cannot get pics to load for this forum or I would post them.
