I was offered a Python today. It is a 1966 vintage, blued with a 4" barrel. The grips are not correct (obviously) and the muzzle and left side plate show wear. It does however, come with an unfired 4" barrel. The gentleman is asking $1600. I'd like to know what you guys think. Please take a look at the pictures below and let me know.
Thanks! -Adam

You are going to be out another $200 - $300 for original grips so total price is going to be in the $1800 - $1900 range. That might be a little high for that piece but certainly not much. Personally, I would buy it and not worry if you really want the python. It is not worth missing out on a gun over a couple hundred bucks.

So go get it and enjoy!

Probably high considering the wear and improper stocks but with an extra barrel you could sell that and get the proper stocks but then it'd be in the $1200 range (to me). As it sits, it's a shooter and, IMHO, a $900ish piece even in today's inflated market.

Based on what a lot of you guys said, I think I'm going to pass on this Python and buy that other 1917 Civilian model new service .45. I don't have anything else like it and hopefully it will find a spot in my collection. Thanks so much for the input guys!
