I have a Python that I bought back in the sixties when they were $125. It originally had a 2 1/2 inch barrel. A few years after I bought it, I had a house fire that messed up several of my guns including the Python. The finish was ruined from smoke and water. I later had it reblued, but the refinish was no where near the original. Even later, I had it rebarreled to a 4 inch. It's a great shooter yet, but I would like to refinish it to something different, like a Turnbull case color of the frame and have the cylinder and barrel in blue. I still have the 2 1/2 inch barrel and would consider having it re-installed. I'd like to turn it into a real head turner. Would like to have your input as to what you would do to make it into a real looker. I don't like nickel guns, so that option is off the table for me. Have also considered sending it to Colt to have it restored to as near original as possible, but then it would be merely a re-do and maybe not add any to the value. Lemme know what you think.
Thanks D
