Can someone tell me the year of manufacture of a Python .357 4 inch serial V166XX. And perhaps its value in 98% condition.

Thanks so much.

Proofhouse.com Colt serial data goes to 1978 and shows that 1978 started with V01001. Someone with later data will be able to tell you if yours fell into a slightly later year or not. To get a Blue Book figure you need to identify the finish. The best way in addition to a number from those involved with Pythons on the forum would be to see what equivalent guns have sold for recently on online auctions such as gunbroker.com or auctionarms.com. GunsAmerica.com listings show you what is asked but are not always updated to show if they sold. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

BB value for 98% blue or royal blue manufactured post 1970 is $775, but the current Python market does not appear to be based on the BB as I said /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
