Howdy

Simple question. Am I correct that these guns do not have a provision for the slide to stay back after the last shot? Looking at one locally, and the slide does not automatically stay back if I rack the slide. Looks like there is no provision for the empty magazine to push up the slide lock.

Nope - it kinda forces you to keep a mental round count, and that practice is what led to one of the most famous lines in movie history:
