I have a "Want To Buy" post where I'm looking for a set of Wood Grips with Colt Medallions for a new model stainless, DS-II.

I've been offered a new set of wood grips without medallions that are said to be off of a stock 1975 Detective Special.

Price is $13 delivered.

Will these 1975 DS grips fit the newer DS-II?

Did the 1975 Detective Specials come with Medallions on their wood grips?

The post-1972 Walnut Combat grips didn't have a Colt medallion. This is probably due to the thinner shape of the grip in the area the medallion would normally be.

The grips will almost certainly need to be fitted to the backstrap of the DS-II, and this will also require a grip refinish.

The DS-II seems to have slightly more metal removed from the backstrap than the DS, and the DS grips will stick out past the backstrap on the DS-II enough that they will require trimming.
