It's a .22 conversion unit, made at Kongsberg in Norway for the Norwegian 1914. Looks like someone made a box for it.

I've only see a handful of them.

That qualifies as a pretty specific answer in my book.. Very cool as I have never seen one.

I knew it was a conversion unit, but didn't necessarily know about the Kongsberg connection.

It would be fun to see how that is shaped there inside for the Cartridge 'Holder' ( .45 Dummy ) to chamber, while transitioning to the .22 diameter.

I will and it does look strange. The .22 hole is off-set on the bore end.
