Hello everybody and thanks a lot for your time to answer and comments.

I will try to answer here questions from you.

The quality of the revolver is very good, specially the finished. It never was shot and was in collectors’ hands.

There is nor BB or any other marks in the barrel.

Yes, I do not know why the front sight was filed down in this way.

A new barrel could be nice, but first I think it will be my obligation to shoot it at 25 m and see the precision/accuracy, so if with this barrel is ok, all will be good. The problem will be to bring the Barrel from USA to Switzerland. IT need an special permit and maybe have to be done through a official shop here.

It is interesting that the Butline special was cheaper that the SAA. I did not know it. Maybe someone in the factory, or maybe here in Switzerland cut the barrel to make it like the SAA. It is a mystery.

The other mystery is that the SAXXXX serial number of any of the Butline from the third generation that I saw can be found in the colt website. Do you have any idea about the issues?

Thanks again
Because it is not a Buntline it is a factory error.

Colt was slopping together the SAA during this era and shipping them almost regardless of defects.

Hello weagle99

That is amazing that mistakes like this happened in Colt already in 1981. That could be a possibility.

Did you see the front sight of the revolver? It looks filed down in a weird way.

As I mentioned before the finished of the revolver loos of nice quality, the problems are the barrel, front sight and an end shake of 002 and a rattle cylinder, maybe because the pin is a little smaller. I need to check it.
Sorry if I sounded harsh, been a rough patch here lately. Enjoy your gun in good health the SAA is a great model.
