Charles,
Do you have any idea how many of these were sent to Chang Kai-Shek as part of our China war effort? I have a '43 RR with Chinese markings on the slide indicating such. It was repatriated in '93 when China was having a cash-flow problem. I heard several thousand M-16 came back from Vietnam that way.

Unfortunately no shipping records have been found for Remington Rand production. Month and year of production has pretty well been determined from government reports. If you post your serial number I can give you that much.

On the site I linked erlier it shows that as a '44 ship date, is that what your records show Johnny?
December of 1944 production. Depending on how soon shipment was after production, could have been either late 1944 or early 1945 shipped.

The 983rd Remington Rand, shipped December of 1942. Finished in Du-Lite blue.
