Renaissance Wax or Flitz Wax

Was wondering what everyone’s preference was, Renaissance Wax or Flitz Wax? I see a few posts regarding renaissance wax, but not too many on the Flitz Wax. Which one is better?

Renaissance has by far the better reputation and is the go-to for museums to preserve metal and leather.

Flitz may well be very good but most museums and collectors tend to use what is known to be the best, and Renaissance is the standard product for most professionals.
Renaissance is well known not to contain any chemicals or additives that might degrade valuable items, which is why it's the standard for most museums and big collectors.

Renaissance without a doubt is best for guns. Use it over metal, wood and leather. Museums use it for fine antique arms. Great stuff. I use it on my antique flintlock rifles. It will actually help clean the crud off without damaging the patina.

Flitz is made for detailing cars, I would be concerned that it may have fine abrasives in it.

I use Renaissance Wax to protect the scrimshaw on my knife handles and on some pistol grips. Works great. I would not use any other wax because the scrimshaw (unlike carving or metal engraving) is not very deep into the handle material and can be worn off with abrasives.

I Googled Flitz wax because I had not seen it before.
It seems to contain similar ingredients to Ren Wax.
It says "non abrasive"

Similar ingredients yes, but not the same and that is the key. Ren Wax is a microcrystalline wax from petroleum as opposed to plant based wax which has both contaminants and breaks down over time causing discoloration. below is a link explaining the differences.
