I have a stainless Colt Government .380ACP and would like to replace the front sight with a tritium sight for better visibility. Would some kindly recommend a gunsmith who could handle this task. I assume it would involve machining a dovetail slot in place of the current front sight. I am also considering replacing the rear sights with a tritium version. Any recommendations for the replacement rear sight? Thanks...

Remember, the slide is cast on the little Colt. Many (including myself) will no quote the job due to the propensity of porosity and sand holes in these particular guns. Do a close inspection of your slide and frame, many of these defects can be seen on the surface. I would go with a tenon instead of a dovetail. It will minimize the risk. The other issue is if one "buggers up" the job, you will not find a replacement.
