I know that the .45 Colt was the most popular/produced caliber in the Single Action Army, and I believe the .44-40 (.44 W.C.F) was next. But does anybody have the succeding chamberings, as to number produced/popularity? I'd be interested in knowing. Seems like I saw a list many years ago.

.45-150,000
.44-40-64,000
.38-40-38,000
.32-20-30,000
.41-16,000
All numbers are approximate
Those are the most popular, there are a lot with around 1000 and fewer. This is for 1st gen only.

Thank you for that information. I would have thought the .41 might have been higher, closer to the .38-40.

I should have added that the numbers above are standard SAA's only, not counting Bisleys or flattops.
