My name is Gary and I bought this piece at the Texas State Fair in the early seventies while filming a western on location in Kerrville, TX. I have shot it many times but have refrained from doing so for many years now for fear of possible damage. One day I should get it authenticated.

Here are your photos right side up. The barrel is 4 3/4" so, based on the one-line Colt address on the top of the barrel, it has been shortened (shorter than an Artillery barrel). The position of the trigger indicates a problem with the trigger or hammer.

Post clear pics of all letter and number stampings including partial serial and inspector initials on barrel, under the ejector housing. Also numbers and letters on cylinder. With good pics we can advise whether the $400.00 authentication is a good idea.
