I've been researching a SAA that will soon become part of my family, er, collection. I ran across this post on a forum from Nov, 2010. Could this be real? [Old-Colts]

That 1883 vintage Single Action, by serial number, has a replacement barrel and cylinder, probably other parts, it was completely refinished. However, for someone just looking to own a prewar Colt Single Action, $1000 wasn't bad in my opinion, but not the find of the century.

I'd pay a grand for that gun, but the only thing that might stop me is all the frame markings on the left side appear to be gone. Other than that it's beautiful.
