Hi. A friend of mine is going to Houston in a couple of days. He would really like to visit a shooting range and try some guns. On top of his list is .50 cal. Is this possible in Houston or nearby?

If he is seeking the .50 BMG, good luck, needs lots of real estate for that. However a 50AE from a Desert Eagle should be possible, i think SGA has one.

There's a range south of Houston about halfway to Victoria that specializes in machine guns and silencer. It's right on 59 on the west side of the highway.

Finally something I can contribute.....

I haven't been there myself, but I was told recently by my FFL dealer in the Memorial area (when I got my shooter) that Tactical Firearms on Mason Rd has everything you might want to try for rent from compact handguns to high capacity automatic rifles. They allow pretty much all calibers and have dedicated lanes for things that may generate shock waves (his words). Check it out and let us know if this is true.
