Hello everybody.

I've a 1975 Python 6" with Elliason, just bought (barely used).
The rear sight is askew.

See pictures.

I've also a friend of mine that has a 2002 Python 6", Accro sight.
We have disassembled both sight.

Mine has two spring.
The other one has only one spring but two holes.

First try: spring hole swap on the sight of my friend.
Result: sight askew!

Second try: remove right spring on my sight, leaving the left one.
Result: a little less askew, but still.

See picture:

Any hint?
The blade it's ok: if i remove both springs I see the blade correctly on plane.

This is a picture of the gun without springs.

What I can do?
Thanks.

Are the two springs the same length and same number of coils? If they sit in a recess are both recesses the same depth? How about swapping your spring location?

I've tried to swap both springs and I've also tried to use only one spring in the left hole, both springs. No results.
I still have to use the right hole, but I'll get worse, I think.

New springs?

Bad news.
It's the blade hole!!!

If I put the blade on the frame (without pin), all ok.
But when I put in the pin... blade follow the pin and it's skewed.

I don't believe to my eyes!
We are talking about a 1975 Colt, damn!

Another option is to see if a replacement blade is available from Kensights.

Also, they manufacture exact replicas of the Colt Accro and Ellison sights. A full replacement might be cheaper because Kensights sell their replica for $65.
If nothing else you could buy the Kensight Ellison and switch the blades into your original Colt Ellison
